- web development
14 June 2017Yesterday evening, was the normal Tuesday run with Horsham Joggers. It was the second Itchingfield Time Trial of the year. There's a club prize for the runner who improves their time the most.
22 May 2017I ran a 10 km race at the weekend and was a bit disappointed with my time. Afterwards, I realised that I need to think more positively during a race.
10 May 2017I visited Bath last weekend for the University's 50th Birthday celebrations. I studied Chemistry in the 1980s and, although I have visited since, it's been a a few years (five?) since my last trip. My visit was a mix of familiarity, memories, new things and old friends.
26 April 2017Freelance web developer is my job but I sometimes feel that it's no longer as exciting as it was. Freelancing promises to be a flexible and rewarding career role but the reality is somewhat different. There are freelancing 'foibles' to overcome, that's for sure.
24 April 2017Parkrun is an inspiration. Run, walk or jog. Everyone can take part. Here are three moments from last weekend's Horsham parkrun that illustrate that and show how everyone gets involved.
20 April 2017I have recoded my blog posts listings page using Grid Layout. And with CSS flexbox as a fallback for older browsers. Here's how I did that.
14 April 2017I've not take any photos with my 'proper' camera (a Sony A6000) for ages. It's a great camera that is more than sufficient for my photographic talents but I became less interested and fell out of the photography habit. I'm hoping to get it back though and here's a start.
13 April 2017Grid Layout is a very powerful layout method. It's a new way of thinking for me. And, it's very exciting!
11 April 2017One of my objectives with this site is to do more with Grid Layout. I've made a start with that by recoding the site header section as follows.
09 April 2017Today's run near Horsham, via the quiet village of Mannings Heath and Hammerpond Lane, was nearly 10 miles. Good training for me for an upcoming race.
08 April 2017Today, I've cycled a couple of miles to and from Horsham Park, run 3 miles (5 km) at Horsham parkrun, visited a local brewery to buy some beer, and shopped at the local supermarket. See, I told you it was exciting ;-)
06 April 2017Here's what I've done so far to test my site's performance. It's looking good but I ned to address a couple of issues at the next stage.
