My First London Marathon
28 May 2024
I was (very) lucky to receive a ballot place for the 2024 London Marathon. A few weeks ago, on 21st April, I ran London for the first time. It was a fantastic day, the crowd support was incredible, and it's something I will never forget. -

Running Challenge
20 November 2020
We're still in COVID-19 November lockdown and I've not run in a race since last year. For added motivation as we reach the end of this second lockdown period (I hope), I have signed up for the Centurion Running One Community event. I have chosen to run 50 km in a week. Next week! -
I've started so I'll finish (I hope)
03 August 2020
I've started four marathon training plans now (three via Strava and one from an online coaching group) but not started a race. How has that come about? -
September Short
24 September 2019
September has been a quiet month. I’ve been ticking over slowly. But, not enough income really. It's been a good month for running though. I'm feeling positive about that. -
It's a marathon not a sprint ... unfortunately?
01 March 2019
In this post, I discuss my running plan and how it has produced mixed results. I've gained endurance but lost some speed. -

Weeknotes 15 - Volunteering at the London Marathon
24 April 2018
I've never run a marathon and, apart from TV watching, haven't experienced race day at a big event like the London Marathon. So, it was with excitement and a few nerves that I travelled up to Blackheath at 5am on Sunday to help out on the big day. -
